Being the first person to leave footprints across a field of freshly fallen snow is one of the special joys of the winter season. Fields of bamboo, wet marshes, and thick forest areas are all completely changed when they are covered in snow, allowing anyone with a pair of snowshoes to walk wherever they please. Whenever I'm out exploring one of these areas and I stumble across another adventurer's footprints, I can't help but feel that they've laid claim to the area in some way.
