Cranes in Love in Kushiro Sharing the natural beauty of Hokkaido with the world.

The shape of the two birds featured above is part of a complex dance that draws many tourists to the Akan International Crane Center each year. There is a special meaning to each step of the dance these two will share on top of the snow. The Japanese Crane mates for life, never once parting from the time they bond in a dance until the day they die. They also raise their offspring with care, communicating with the chick while it's still inside the egg up until it is a full grown adult. Naturally the chicks grow to recognize the distinct voice of their parent.
