Common things in Hokkaido - Don’t you have an incorrect understanding of the “curves” of the view from Mt. Hakodate?
One person pointed on a map and said: “the curves we see from Mt. Hakodate is here, right?” Oh wait, is he mentioning the line of the Oshima Peninsula? Hokkaido Likers fans, you know where that curve is, right?
The view from Mt. HakodateA person who read the article “Hike at Mt. Hakodate - There are more attractions than night views! Let’s get to the summit with a hiking trail in nature,” pointed on a map and said, “the curves we see from Mt. Hakodate is here, right?”
▲He pointed out this curve seen from the top of Mt. Hakodate on a map.
▲He pointed here.
Wait a minute, do many people consider like that? I asked a few people and realized this was one of the common things in Hokkaido.
I understand people outside of Hokkaido consider like that. However, I found out that many people who live in Hokkaido even have incorrect understandings.
Where is that curve we see from the top of Mt. Hakodate?Hakodate City is the bottom right part of the Oshima Peninsula.
Mt. Hakodate is located in the red circle on the map below.
▲This area includes the west area of Hakodate, where Mt. Hakodate and many western-style buildings are located.
There is no way we could see the Oshima Peninsula from the top of Mt. Hakodate, which is only 334 meters in elevation.
Then, where is that curve?
▲The curve we see from Mt. Hakodate is here!
▲The night view from Mt. Hakodate.
I understand that many people misunderstand because the shape is similar.
Please tell the correct location if you find someone who has an incorrect understanding.
Good bye for today!
