Fireworks lit up the night sky at "Tsudoi Forest" in Takino Suzuran National Park this past February 9th and 10th.

The theme of this year's event was "Fireworks, Music, and The Big Man." A combination of artwork (The Big Man) by Michiyoshi Isozaki and live music by Hokkaido born group "43°."

The fireworks began with a simple "V" shaped launch. After the first explosions, the show really took off, filling the sky with beautiful lights and the thunderous sounds of the display.

The viewing area is located quite close to the launching pads so the view is spectacular. Many in the crowd moved in as close as possible to get the most intense experience.

The final firework of the night was the largest, closing the show with a bang. The display warmed the hearts of the crowd, and for 15 minutes everyone had forgotten about the cold of the winter night.

There are many visitors to see the show each year, so the parking lot is packed. After the show it took a long time to get out of the lot, so I suggest that visitors next year park near the exit! Entrance to the event is free (as is parking!) so if you can make it next year be sure to come out to see the show!
