A view of Horonobe Town from above.

Along the edge of Rishiri Island, in the Sarobetsu Field, a line of windmills can be seen overlooking the Sea of Japan.
This is "Otonrui Windmill Farm," the pride of Horonobe Town.
"Otonrui" is the Ainu word for "beach road" and is a location with a great supply of steady wind. The town takes advantage of the pleasant breezes found in this area and uses them to create energy.
