"Pond of the Gods"

I recently visited this pond in the town of Kiyosato. The water is a beautiful blue and so clear that the bottom was perfectly visible. Due to the low temperature of the water, fallen trees don't decay but remain in the condition in which they fell. The pond gets its name from its source, Lake Mashu, which is the lake of the god 'Kamuito'. The pond, which stands in mysterious beauty in the middle of the forest, has such a pristine beauty that the name "Pond of the Gods" seems appropriate.
