"Containers of drying onions" Oketo ~ Kunnepu towns.

Early September brings the arrival of large containers throughout various fields in Hokkaido. Enquiring to a local farmer I was dutifully informed that these are large bins filled with onions! The onions are left to dry for a few days before being picked up and shipped to markets.

According to my "source" the blue and red tarps are the most common and popular but there exits also yellow ones!  Well, I do wonder why farmers like red and blue more than yellow? Hmmm.... a mystery indeed!  Anyway think I'll go in search of a yellow one!
