Recently I was driving down National Highway Route 39, from Asahikawa towards Kamikawa Town, to an hot spring town named "Sounkyo Ravine" located at the base of Mt. Kurodake.
Despite the fact that's it's only late fall, there was quite a bit of snow in the area.
It seems that the winter isn't too far away in Hokkaido.
This picture, sent in by the shop, is of the "Natural Cafe," located in Sounkyo".
Sounkyo Ravine is well known for its beautiful autumn scenery, which is due, in part, to the attractive valley landscape.
The shop is well known for it's healthy "Kurodake Bread" which is made, without using butter and eggs, from a mixture of pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
