“Furano Yukidoke Cheesecake”, so popular for souvenir, teatime!

5 minutes walk from JR Furano station and 7-8 minutes by car from Kitanomine-cho, the town where ski mountain is located. I would like to recommend “Furano Yukidoke Cheesecake” made by “Shinya", for souvenir and teatime. 
 

4 layers mingle magically and make a rich but yet somewhat light taste; cinnamon flavored tart, slightly sour blueberry and wild grape jam, cream cheese filling between baked and rare, and fluffy, melty fresh cream.

The tart, and the cheesecake filling which mixes two kinds of cheese, Furano pasteurized milk, and  egg yolk, get matured for a day to produce the rich taste. The cheesecake takes 3 days to become a finished product!
 

Furano Yukidoke Cheesecake is sold frozen. Usually you have to defrost before eating, but Chihiro Kubota from sales department says, “if you want to taste the richness, defrost all. But if you prefer light taste, defrost about half and eat it like ice cream”.
 

Not only plain but there various flavors such as chocolate and matcha. Including seasonal flavors, for example lavender and melon, there are totally 10 flavors. Try different flavors and find your favorite.

“Shinya" was established in 1914 at first as a merchant. Since then, Shinya has provided delicious food to people in Furano.
 

Other than Furano Yukidoke Cheesecake, they produce “Heso no Omanju”, which promotes that Furano is the center of Hokkaido. (* “heso” means belly in Japanese, and Japanese describe something as belly to represent it is in the center of something). And many more such as Soufflé Furano Cheesecake.

“Us, producers, do normal things normally such as operating strict hygiene management, to deliver standard taste to customers” says the pastry chef Toshiki Goto.
